walton played the game,
and after winning, set about packing it up.
he filled all the slots but one in the plastic insert,
so scoured the floor for the missing piece.

the bare area of his bedroom floor checked,
he started to sweep under his bed.
“yes! found it!” he thought to himself
as he grasped what he thought to be the lost item stumbled apon in the darkness.

as he pulled his hand out he did not look
to check what he had found was correct.
he blindly placed it into the empty space
and then, to his surprise, looked apon the item only to see it move.

“thank you!” the item spoke as walton reeled back in horror,
“this will make a nice bed for me, it was cold under your bed.”
walton just stared as what he realised was some sort of bug spoke to him.
“can you not talk? i could talk since i was a baby.”

walton built up some courage and questioned the limbless thing,
“what are you?”
“you can speak! i’m a maggot of course, what are you?”
“i’m a boy. ”
